Caffeine May Affect Estrogen Levels in Women

February 2, 2012 - In a recent study by the National Institute for Heath (NIH) researchers found that consumption of caffeine may effect estrogen levels in women 18-44 yrs of age. According to the study, subjects given moderate levels of caffeine experienced varying effects on the level of estrogen depending on race of the subject. For example in women of Caucasian descent, estrogen levels dropped, while in Asians estrogen levels rose.

Coffee Reduces Risk of Prostate Cancer

Oct 25, 2011 - Good news for all coffee drinker - well at least for the men. A recent study by the prestigious Harvard Medical School shows that men drinking 6 or more cups of coffee per day have a 60% reduction of developing prostate cancer. The study which surveyed over 48,000 people for 12 years shows promising potential in the field of coffee research.

What is perhaps most interesting about this study, is that researchers  looked at the consumption of both regular and decaf coffee- suggesting that there is something other than caffeine - that may hold therapeutic benefits to health. Check out this video from MSNBC.

Coffee lowers risk of depression for women

Sept 29th, 2011 - According to a long term study, women who consume at least 4 cups of coffee have a 20% chance of developing depression in their lives. The results of the study which coincides with a previous study in Finland, suggests that coffee may also reduce the risk of depression and suicide in men as well.
